What are my options and choices?

Do you want to know about your options and make informed choices? This is a great section for members, as it will help you decide whether you want to use natural methods of pain relief, have a waterbirth, choose a route that uses drugs. If you are considering a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Caeserean) then there are members here who have had successful VBAC's and will discuss them openly and honestly. Please feel free to ask.

Doula supported birth

Did you have a Doula to support you and your partner for the birth of your baby? Did you have a Doula to support you in the postnatal period? Please let other members know what this experience was like. How did it help, what did the Doula do for you both and your baby(ies)?

Independent Midwife supported birth

Are you considering hiring an Independent Midwife? What does an Independent Midwife do? Does she have back-up? What happens if I have to transfer in? Who is local to you? Have you made contact with anyone or did you have an Indie for your last baby? How was the experience? We would love to hear your thoughts and experiences.

Birth stories

They can be an inspiration to a mum planning her first birth, a second timer or even a mum planning to VBAC or to use alternative types of pain relief. Trying to Conceive?

Conception - can be one of the hardest things to do. Here we discuss your options, the emotions and hopefully the success of conceiving either naturally or with support. If you have experienced IVF etc and feel that you could share your experiences to help other members, we would be very grateful for your posting. A huge thank you in advance, because we know how difficult and emotional this is.

Just for Dads

This section is just for our lovely Dads. What reflections do you have about your birth experience from conception to the following months after your precious little bundle arrived? How did you feel when your partner told you she was pregnant? What were your feelings when you were deciding where you would like to have your baby i.e. hopsital, home etc. Did the plans you made go as scheduled? You, as a Dad may experience the birth of your baby and never had the opportunity to tell someone how you were feeling at the time. This is your opportunity to debrief your birth experience and help others in the local community too.

Natural and Organic Alternatives

Discussion on everything from aromatherapy, massage in pregnancy, reflexology etc. Alternative health options for our children and us. Sources of organic produce and ethical products available locally. If you have a local contact, or have found a good source of organic produce, an alternative health practitioner then please let our members know about them - it's always about word of mouth.

Great Days Out

This is the place to rave about a great day out. Where did you go? How did you get there? How much was the entrance fee? Did they have family tickets or reductions? What was there to do? Did they have good baby changing facilities? Most importantly. did your children enjoy it? What helpful hints and tips do you have for achieving a great day out?
